NEET 2013 Information


                                   National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test (NEET)

1.   NEET stands for National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test which has been proposed by Ministry of Human Resource Development(MHRD), Govt. of India and Medical Council of India   (MCI)  for Undergraduate (NEET-UG)(MBBS/BDS ) and Post Graduate(NEET-PG) (MD,MS) Medical Courses and will be a common entrance test for Health Science  courses across the country for almost all Government and private medical Colleges/Universities and is going to conducted  for the first time in the year 2013 for academic session 2013-14.

2.   NEET is being replaced by All India Pre-Medical Test ( AIPMT ) which till 2012 was used for admissions into 15% seats of all government medical colleges except that of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu&Kashmir and all individual entrance exams organized by individual state or colleges/Universities  like AFMC,OJEE,EAMCET,Delhi-PMT,GUJCET,MHTCET,UP-PMT,UT-PMT,R-PMT,HR-PMT,WE-JEE,JK-CET etc

3.  NEET will be used to get admissions into some 161 Government  Medical colleges for 19,985 seats and some 194 Private Colleges for 23,755  MBBS seats. 
The number of seats and colleges may vary depending upon their participation in NEET for the academic year 2013-14.

4. Date of examination : 05-05-2012. (Sunday 9.00AM)

5. NEET Exam Patterm:
     The exam is objective type (MCQs).
     Total number Questions            – 180MCQs  x4 Marks = 720 Marks
                     1.   Physics                     -  45 MCQs   
                2. Chemistry                  - 45 MCQs   
                3.  Botany                      - 45 MCQs   
                4.  Zooloy                       -45 MCQs  
         
           Each correct answer will carry 4 marks and for a wrong answer 5 marks will be deducted.
     Total Exam Time 3 hours (180 Minutes)
 Exam Language/Medium : English,Hindi and  Regional languages.

6. National as well as State Level  Merit list will be prepared for all the candidates taking NEET.
  a)A student can use National Rank to take admission in any NEET affiliated Medical colleges 
      in India
  b)A student can use State Rank to take admissions in any of the affiliated colleges in the state from  
     where one has completed  X and XII std  or holds a domicile.
